embracing Holland Values

VOTE BOCKS MAYOR

character counts

I moved to Holland in 1986 to attend Hope College where I met Elizabeth. We started attending Christ Memorial Church as students and we were married shortly after I finished law school in 1992.

Elizabeth is retiring in June, 2023 after teaching physical education, health and life guarding at Hudsonville High School for 33 years.

I opened my first law office, specializing in Estate Planning, Real Estate, and Small Business law on Eighth Street in January, 1993 and continue to serve clients from my office, Central Park Law, PLLC on South Shore Drive. Our dog, Merlin, is my office assistant.

In over 30 years of marriage, Elizabeth and I had two boys, Duncan and Spencer, and adopted our daughter Megan from South Korea.

Duncan is now married to his wonderful wife Michelle and our first grandchild is due in June, 2023. Duncan works for MillerKnoll and Michelle for Holland Hospital. They live here in Holland. Spencer lives and works in the Pacific Northwest and Megan is a recent graduate of Michigan State University. Elizabeth and all of our children attended the Holland Public Schools.

From my first volunteer role as a board member of Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity all the way to the Mayor’s office, I have consistently served the Holland community in more than 15 capacities.

With your vote, I look forward to continuing over 25 years of service to the people of Holland as your Mayor.
