I love Holland. For years my motto has been, “…And I get to live here!” For me Holland has always been a Welcome Home.

We have always been a place where we have found solutions by working together. We have always been a community that works.

Holland is a great place to live, but not everyone has always felt as good about their lives and their community as I do. To them, Holland has not always been a Welcome Home. I have worked hard to change that. And we are winning.

We are building a community that works for everyone.

During my time as Mayor we have been proactive about addressing the opportunities and challenges that face us and living out our aspirations for the future. We are truly becoming a Welcome Home for all Holland residents.

By clearing the path to build the homes Holland wants and needs, we are creating a Welcome Home for people struggling to find an affordable home in our great community.

By connecting our residents to their waterfront, we are creating a Welcome Home where we all have a direct connection to the historic lifeblood of Holland, our rivers and lakes.

By building a community-owned, city-wide, affordable, high-speed broadband network, we are creating a Welcome Home where everyone has access to information and an essential tool for success.

By working together to fund a world-class ice-skating park, affordable and accessible for all residents, we are creating a Welcome Home where residents of Holland can gather, skate, and celebrate community.

By celebrating the value of everyone who calls Holland home, we are creating a Welcome Home for all Holland residents and encourage young, talented workers looking to move here from other communities.

I will continue to work tirelessly to create a Welcome Home for all Holland residents so we can all proudly say, “And WE get to live here!”
